As of today, June 11, we have 210 people registered and only 40 spaces remaining. If you are a blogger and know a fellow blogger who is considering attending, please let them know they should sign up soon! Last year we unfortunately had to turn away 25 potential participants and it will likely happen again this year.
Thanks to all of you who have already registered as Blogger Participants, Sponsors, Speakers, Media, and Industry Participants!
With the 2009 Wine Bloggers Conference a little less than two months out, there are already over 180 participants registered. This year participation is limited to 250 so if you are planning to attend but have not registered already, now is the time!
176 participants attended the 2008 Wine Bloggers Conference. Many of those participants registered in the last few weeks before the conference and due to lack of conference space many more were turned away.
See you there!
Chris Alden of Six Apart will join us as the Keynote Speaker for Friday’s Dinner. Six Apart has enabled millions of individuals, media companies and enterprises to create blogs and form rich, interactive communities via blogger tools such as Movable Type, TypePad, and Blogs.com.
Barry Schuler will join us as the Keynote Speaker during Saturday’s Napa Grand Tasting event. Barry’s multimedia firm Medior created interactive technologies for AOL; after his company was purchased by AOL, Barry worked his way up to eventually become CEO and Chairman of the company. Today, as managing director of Draper Fisher Jurvetson, he’s funding next-thing projects in tech. He and wife Tracy co-own Meteor Vineyard, located in the Coombsville region of the Napa Valley, with winemakers Bill and Dawnine Dyer.
We are pleased to announce that the Russian River Valley Winegrowers will host an after-hours party on July 24th and ViniPortugal along with the European Wine Bloggers Conference will host an after-hours party on July 25th at this year’s Wine Bloggers Conference. The party starts, or continues depending on how you look at it, at 9:00 PM each evening at the Flamingo and offers us all a great opportunity to continue where we left off at dinner while getting to know our hosts and their wines. Cheers!
Wow. How is this for cool? A handful of bloggers who are already registered for the 2009 conference thinks the conference is so important they created a scholarship fund for needy bloggers to attend along with them! See http://wbcscholarship.wordpress.com. As organizers, this makes us feel very proud … of both the conference and our fellow bloggers.
