The 2009 North American Wine Bloggers Conference concluded today with what I think all will consider a resounding success. Yes, I write this myself as the organizer but I do based on the comments we received from participants. Matt Reid from Wines for the People just emailed me “This conference far exceeded our hopes, let alone our expectations.”
For those who attended, thank you. We will email soon with a link to an online survey where you can provide us with feedback. Please remember to blog about any and all wines, wineries, events, discussions, etc that caught your interest or struck a nerve!
For those who did not attend, please note registration is now open for the 2010 Conference: June 25-27 in Walla Walla, Washington. We already have 13 people registered for next year! This website will be updated soon with complete information.
Personally, I had a great time, enjoyed meeting so many interesting people, and learned quite a bit myself. I hope all of you did as well.
Allan Wright
Co-Organizer
Quite a compliment to Gary. As you know, I didn't find Gary's keynote last year particularly insightful. Barry S was a good pick with his connection as a winery owner but his knowledge and experience as a venture capitalist is what I felt was worth the price of admission. Just think what could happen if Malcolm Gladwell showed up.
I talked to Seth. He turned me down and suggested Gary V would be more appropriate. I had to inform him the we had “been there, done that”… 🙂
As a 2nd year WBC'er, I say that this conference blasted out the walls. Barry Schuler was awesome, that's what I'm talking about…he's a real keynote speaker. And thank you, thank you, thank you for thinking outside the box–bring on the Seth Godins for WBC10.
We'll collect the presentations up and post them to Slideshare (embed here) over the next week or so. We have to re-group and get our heads back in place!
Awesome job, Allan! Any plans to share Sunday's peer presentations here/Slideshare?
Allan – It was fabulous! I couldn't have asked for more as a first time attendee. I also enjoyed getting to know you on our bus #7 journey on Saturday. Looking forward to 2010. – Felicia aka @winefinesse
