You got it. Lodi, CA, home of the 2016 Wine Bloggers Conference. Two days ago, The Wine Enthusiast announced Lodi, CA as the winner of The Wine Region of the Year and as you can determine, we are thrilled. The award will be presented at the Wine Star Awards on January 25th in New York City. The award is a huge honor and its purpose as stated by Wine Enthusiast “is to recognize not only excellence in wine quality, but also innovation and excitement coupled with the courage to take risks and the skill to succeed.”
Lodi is home to over 85 wineries with 750 growers in their region….that is a lot of exploring to do when we are there in August. We are proud to have @LodiWine as one of our lead sponsors this year. Please be sure to explore their website as it hosts practically everything you need to know about touring and tasting wines in the area. Do some research well ahead of the Wine Bloggers Conference to get a grip on all the opportunity you will have in the area to tour and taste some amazing wines.
This year, the WBC will be hosted August 11th-14 and is shaping up with lots of great content and presentations. So far, we have secured room blocks at two hotels in Lodi that share the same parking lot and are located 2.3 miles from Hutchins Street Square. Transportation will be provided between the Square and the hotels at appropriate times during the conference. Please book either hotel as you wish – we recommend booking as soon as you can as our blocks are limited and will sell out. There are no modern hotels within walking distance of the venue.
Holiday Inn Express: $139 for rooms. Rates available August 9-14.
Hampton Inn & Suites: $124 for traditional rooms and $144 for suites. Rates available August 10-16.
If you are interested in sharing a hotel room with a fellow participant, post a comment on our WBC – Alumni & Registered Attendees Facebook Group. If you have not yet registered for the conference, please do so!
As the marketing, sales and communications manager for the WBC 2016, I am thrilled to be a part of this. I look forward to seeing you all there in August and will be posting updates as the details come to fruition!
