Located in the heart of North Central Washington, just two hours east of Seattle, Cascade Valley Wine Country encompasses three of the state’s premier wine touring and adventure destinations. Begging north, at Lake Chelan, traveling through Wenatchee, and winding up in the Charming Bavarian Village of Leavenworth. Wine Enthusiasts will find our wines to be every bit as spectacular as our region. With over 70 wineries and tasting rooms; boasting world class, award winning wines with endless opportunity for adventure.
Day One: Lake Chelan
7:00am-Wake up to the jaw-dropping beauty of the Southeast end of Lake Chelan with a stroll down the historic main street to Bear Mountain Natural Foods and Café Creperie. Using only the finest ingredients, their crepes are both savory and nutritious.
9:00am– Heading North of the lake to Skydive Chelan, prepare for an experience in wine country unlike any other. The Winery Tandem package includes an electrifying freefall and parachute descent to one of Chelan’s exquisite wineries, Tsillan Cellars. Upon landing among the vineyards, you will make your way to the tasting room where you will be greeted with a bottle of your choice to commemorate the experience!
12:00pm– With Dozens of destination wineries to choose from, schedule your pick up at the winery or back at the airport with Lake Chelan Limo and leave the worries of driving behind; it’s time to celebrate, and what better way than a visit to the Méthode Champenoise House, Karma Vineyards. Here you will enjoy a French inspired lunch on the patio, followed by a tour of the wine cave.
2:00pm– Unwind with lawn games, a souvenir logo glass, at Mellisoni Vineyards. As you make your way around the lake, enjoy a tasting of Rhone inspired wines at Cairdeas Winery, followed by the Mediterranean style Estate Winery, Benson Vineyards for breathtaking views of the lake. Finishing up the tour you can savor a tasting with one of the regions rising stars, Succession Wines.
7:00pm– Delight in a romantic dinner for two or a lively evening with friends as you reminisce about the exciting events of the day at the Winemaker’s Grill at Wapato Point Cellars with their fresh seasonal menu.
9:00pm– Settle in for the evening at the lakeside, Campbell’s Resort as you dream of what adventures await.
Day Two: Wenatchee
7:00am– After a quick breakfast in Chelan, you will begin your scenic drive along the Columbia River, winding through vineyards and orchards along the way to the foothills of the Cascades.
8:00am– Arriving at Arlberg sports, you’ll prepare for afternoon wine tasting with an exhilarating mountain bike ride down one of the state’s premier trails, Devil’s Gulch. Partnered with Adventure Wenatchee, shuttle service is provided to the top of Mission Ridge, where you will begin your 12 mile descent with pick up at the finish.
12:00pm– Upon your return, you’ll find yourself just a few blocks from Pybus Market. This year-round indoor farmers market boasts unique shopping, locally grown fruits and veggies, plenty of restaurants for a delicious lunch and of course wine tasting at Jones of Washington.
3:00pm– Heading back out along the Ave, you’ll stumble upon the 4th generation family owned Stemilt Creek Winery, where you can indulge in a tasting of estate grown biodynamic wines. Just across the street, you can enjoy a diverse mix of the regions wines, ciders, and beers available at the newly renovated Wenatchee Chamber of Commerce.
6:30pm– Relish the evening with live jazz and guitar music nearly every night at Chateau Faire Le Pont Winery where you will enjoy world class wines, expertly paired with a French inspired farm-to-table menu at the Chateau Grill.
8:30pm– Turn in for the evening at Warm Springs Inn and Winery; the riverfront 1917 mansion turned luxury Bed and Breakfast, serving estate wines in the evening and the finest quality coursed breakfast.
Day Three: Leavenworth
7:30am-Just a short drive from Wenatchee, you arrive in the quaint Bavarian Village of Leavenworth. Nestled at the base of the Cascades, Leavenworth is a premier vacation destination famous for its unique shopping, festivals, boutique wineries and breweries, and some of the world’s best rock climbing!
8:00am– Meeting up with your guides from Northwest Mountain School, Leavenworth Rock Climbing guides will provide you with all the gear and instruction required to reach the summit and take in the stunning views of the beautiful Icicle Canyon.
11:00am– After a full morning of climbing, head across the creek for a special appointment only tasting experience at the regions only fully off-grid, generational winery, Boudreaux Cellars. Here you can tour the gorgeous facility and enjoy some mighty fine wines before heading back to town.
12:30pm– Once you arrive back in town, stop by München Haus to grab a gourmet German sausage for lunch! As you wander through the streets, there are over 20 tasting rooms located in the heart of downtown Leavenworth. Stop by some local favorites such as Baroness Cellars for a taste of Englewein (White Glühwein), Bergdorf Cellars for a mug of Glühwein, or visit Plain cellars for locally sourced wines. Rapidly growing into a tasting destination, Leavenworth even has its own wine co-op, The Wine Cellar, boasting 7 tasting rooms for a one stop sensory experience.
If destination wineries are more your style, be sure to stop in Leavenworth’s first family winery, Eagle Creek Winery, or the old family Cabin at Icicle Ridge Winery, or stop in for a sunny afternoon on the patio at Silvara Vineyards and take in the stunning views this hilltop winery has to offer.
7:00pm– For a polished, thoughtfully sourced farm-to-table menu that changes daily, make a reservation at Watershed Café, with outdoor seating available you will enjoy a relaxing evening with unbeatable views of Wedge Mountain and Icicle Canyon.
8:30pm– Turning in for the night, check into the exclusive Post Hotel, and enjoy an authentic European wellness experience. Luxury accommodations, tranquil scenery, and included breakfast, lunch, and dessert buffets along-side revitalizing amenities such as sauna’s, hot and cold plunges, a swim-out saltwater pool, and steam rooms are sure to tempt you to extend your trip another day.
