The Montefalco Wine Consortium Announces the Winner of the 2015 Contest
One wine writer heading to the Italian region of Umbria this Fall
The Montefalco Wine Consortium held a contest earlier this summer and is excited to announce the winner of trip to the Italian wine region of Umbria this fall. Drumroll, please…
2015 Blogger Contest winner is Mike Madaio of PA Vine Co. Pennsylvania Vine Company was created by Mike and Jeff Alexander, two longtime food, drink and writing enthusiasts. Mike previously spearheaded Main Line Dine, a perpetual source of info for suburban Philly food-lovers, and a frequent contributor to several other local publications. Jeff, formerly known as the Philadelphia Wine Examiner, has also written about the world of wine through his Main Line Vine blog (which has been merged into this site).
Fourteen finalists were selected after a robust twitter content that went through June 30. These 14 finalists had until July 30 to submit a blog post about tasting the Sagrantino wine they were shipped from the Montefalco Wine Consortium. Mike’s post, “Of Monsters and Montefalco”, was:
incredibly insightful, creative, and thoroughly entertaining
relays the Montefalco Wine Consortium. Though he was a bit hesitant at first to crack a bottle of Sagrantino in the heat of July, that bottle of wine greatly paid off as he won a trip to the Italian region of Umbria to taste his way through Montefalco and its many delicious wines.
Cheers to Mike Madaoi of the Pennsylvania Vine Company! Want to follow Mike’s travels this Fall? Catch him on Twitter at: @lifeattable.
