We are happy to announce a fantastic Pre-Conference excursion to Loudoun County, one of the premier wine areas in Virginia. Located just outside of Washington DC, the county has 28 wineries and is perfectly positioned not only for day visitors from our capital but also wine bloggers making their way to Charlottesville for the conference.
The excursion starts at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 20th with pickup at Dulles Airport. The group will visit several Loudoun wineries that afternoon before enjoying a farm-fresh dinner paired with Loudoun County wines. Overnight accommodations are provided. The next day, several more winery visits will be followed by lunch and then a bus ride on to Charlottesville, just in time to catch the evening International Wines Night.
This Excursion is open only to Citizen Wine Bloggers registered for the 2011 Wine Bloggers Conference. Due to space restrictions, the cap is 25 attendees. Cost is $100 which includes bus transport, hotel, dinner, lunch, and wine tastings – plus the invaluable experience of learning about a new wine area!
Check out the Pre & Post tab for complete details. Thanks to our friends at Visit Loudoun for subsidizing the trip.
At this time, we do not have a Post-Conference Excursion planned. We’ll let you know if that changes.
