Yesterday at 8:55 PM local time in Portland, Oregon, the fifth annual Wine Bloggers Conference sold out at 350 attendees, a full 72 days in advance of the conference. The conference has now sold out five years in a row. We will have a few cancellations and you can register to be on the waitlist.
Attendees are coming from 26 different states, four Canadian provinces, and three foreign countries. While we no longer call this the North American Wine Bloggers Conference, it clearly is still where attendees are coming from. We have never made an effort to recruit bloggers from other parts of the world, although they are very welcome.
225 of the attendees are Citizen Wine Bloggers, equating to 64%. Another 45 are Industry Bloggers, meaning 77% of attendees are blogging about wine. The remainder come from industry, sponsors, and speakers. While a mix of attendees is good and we never turn anyone away, one of our goals this year was to make sure more bloggers were able to attend and this is the highest percentage of bloggers in the five years of the conference.
There will be plenty of wine to drink. In addition to the overnight Excursions pre-conference and the Friday visits to Oregon’s wine country, we have five Grand Sponsors, 10 Premier Sponsors, 10 International Wine Night Sponsors, and three Event Sponsors, most of whom will be pouring wine. We will also have about 30 wineries pouring at both Live Wine Blogging sessions plus a Night of Many Bottles (more info to come).
Speaking of the pre-conference excursions, the trips to both Salem and Hood River are now sold out. If you are registered for the conference, you can still sign up for an excursion to either Eugene or Washington County. See the Excursions page for details.
Thank you to all of our 350 attendees and our many sponsors for supporting the annual Wine Bloggers Conference!
