As we prepare to lift-off for another Wine Bloggers Conference, Zephyr Adventures wanted to take a moment and thank you all for drinking (and blogging) with us. Jordan Winery created an in-flight safety video to inspire your carry-on luggage.
Prune orchards outnumber vineyards in the Alexander Valley in the early ‘7o’s when Tom and Sally Jordan signed the deed on the land and founded Jordan Vineyard. They signed the deed in May of 1972 and on the same date as the birth of their son, John, who is Jordan’s vintner today. Tom and Sally had visions of Bordeaux when they planted their first 200 acres in Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot (The idea of building a winery didn’t arrive until a few years later).
The first vintage, 1976, represents the risk-taking these Colorado natives took in their winemaking vision: the production of an elegant, fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignon with silky tannins that could be enjoyed both in its youthful state as well as for years to come.
Jordan has become a benchmark American winery that combines world-class wine and hospitality. And, as it turns out, a lot of fun, too. The “Thank You For Drinking” video is off-the-hook hilarious and testifies to how a winery can be über sophisticated AND shake a leg at the same time. Remember the last time you flew United? You’ll be reminded when you watch the video.
Lisa Mattson, Jordan’s Director of Marketing and Communications, is a familiar face at each Wine Bloggers Conference and is hosting the After Hours Party starting at 11 PM on Friday, August 14 at the 2015 Wine Bloggers Conference.
This is really great of you guys to do. I’ve read a lots of positive things about your after parties which seem to be legendary.
Fun! 😉
Looking forward to next week!
