One of the aspects that made the 2019 Wine Media Conference so rewarding for attendees was the fantastic support of our local hosts. Some of these hosts, such as the Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association, were very prominent. Others, such as Destination Sydney Surrounds North, were much less visible but equally important. Here we wanted to post a short note the chair of DSSN wrote to our attendees.
by David Fellows, Chair, Destination Sydney Surrounds North
We wanted to thank all the attendees of the 2019 Wine Media Conference for making time in your schedule to attend the conference last month.
We trust that you gained useful insights into the Australian Wine Industry, sampled some special wines, relished the Hunter Valley hospitality, made some valuable connections and enjoyed what you experienced of the many attractions of the Hunter Valley and beyond.
If you any further information on the role we play in the Visitor Economy and the broad visitor appeal of the Hunter Valley as one of Australia’s premier wine growing regions, easily accessed from both Sydney & Newcastle, please advise Michelle.jenkins@dssn.com.au and we’ll do the rest.
I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate two of the Hunter Valley’s finest wineries, First Creek Wines and Mount Pleasant Wines, which recently were awarded the Orora Trophy for Best Dry White and CCL Trophy for Best Dry Red respectively at the 2019 ICC Sydney NSW Wine Awards.
Again thank you for visiting the Hunter Valley. We look forward to welcoming your readers and to seeing you again one day soon.
