At the 2012 Wine Bloggers Conference we held an Ignite Wine session for the second time. Ignite is “a geek event in over 100 cities worldwide. At the events Ignite presenters share their personal and professional passions, using 20 slides that auto-advance every 15 seconds for a total of just five minutes.”
At the WBC, all presentations were, of course, about wine. And this year, we limited all presentations to bloggers and asked them not to “pitch” anything. The result was excellent.
As part of the Ignite program, we as Ignite Wine organizers are asked to conduct the first presentation to explain what the concept is all about. Elle Potter of Zephyr Adventures does this here, talking about three of our conferences (ignoring the Wine Tourism Conference and International Food Blogger Conference). Notice how she stays on track with the advancing slides, imparts some real information, adds humor, and builds up the speed and fun as she progresses.
