What is the state of wine blogging?
We hear a lot of talk and questions asked about wine blogging as it is compared to traditional wine writing, but up until now there hasn’t been a detailed review of wine blog data.
This year, we are initiating a survey on the state of wine blogging. We are asking all wine bloggers to participate and share information about their blog that will be aggregated and then shared back with the community.
If you have a wine blog, please take a few minutes to participate in this brief survey:
2013 State of Wine Blogging Survey
We see a lot of blogs come and go; we see wine blogs grow, evolve, and we see wine blogs disappear and/or become inactive. This is an opportunity to compare your blog to the average, contribute to sharing information (all individual data will be aggregated and be confidential), and to see how wine blogs compare to other niche blogging groups like beer, food, and fitness bloggers.
We have recently published our list of wine blogs online, which you can check out here. We’ve been tracking the life of wine blogs on our database, which we will add to the data we collect from the survey results.
At the end of the survey you have the option to provide us with your email address. If you submit your email, we will email you the results once we compile them. We also plan on sharing a detailed summary of the data we collect at the 2013 Wine Bloggers Conference this June in Penticiton. Registration is open for this year’s conference, so make sure you get signed up soon.
And tell us – what questions in this survey are we not asking? Just like the nature of blogs, the data we collect and the questions we ask will evolve as blogging evolves. Is there specific data that we should be analyzing that you do no see on the survey? Also – what data on wine blogs are you most eager to see compiled and look at?
